The Blush Bralette I Can’t Stop Wearing

Pre-pandemic I never thought of myself as the kind of girl to lounge around the house in crop tops and bras, but here I am 65 days into quarantine and this bra has been worn for at least 1/3 of those days.

I love how it can be dressed up with a skirt or jeans to be more like a proper crop top, or dressed down with leggings for cozy chic lounging.

We had almost a solid week of sunshine and 70 degree temps here in San Francisco so I’ve been spending a LOT of time on my rooftop and dressing in summery outfits like this one. (I know Karl The Fog is going to ruin the party for good any day now so I’m soaking up all the sunshine and summer vibes that I can!)

When I bought this bra, I knew the blush color would pair well with a lot of my favorite bottoms, like this red skirt which you probably see on Instagram all the time because it’s a favorite of mine (so comfy and fun!) It also pairs well with jeans, these new orange pants, and of course leggings.

I’ve been *trying* to be better about only buying clothing items that I can prove to myself can be matched with things already in my closet. On this order from American Eagle and Aerie, I actually bought a few crop tops and bralettes and tried them each on with the bottoms I’ve been wearing a lot lately.

I only kept the top that really matched/looked good with the pieces I already own. I’m a sucker for those one-off statement pieces that are fun to wear here and there, but we live in a small space and it’s important that I *try* to weed my wardrobe down to what I ACTUALLY wear all the time.

OUTFIT DETAILS

  • Top: Aerie
  • Skirt: Target (a few years old, similar here)
  • Shoes: Target
  • Earrings: Joyous Mondays
  • Bag: Vacation market find

I challenge you to do the same when you’re shopping this summer! I know already that I’ll still have those impulse buys when I see a pretty dress or a fun bag (especially when the thrift stores open up again, LORDY knows I’ll be going a little ham at first.) BUT do ask yourself: can I make at least 3 outfits with this piece that I’ll wear at least once a month? If the answer is no, maybe skip it.

Anyways, I love this bralette and it comes in a few different colors, so if you’re on the hunt for a comfy bra that I promise will match tons of your clothes, shop it HERE.
