Picture this: you just spent the day sipping on world-class cabernets at world glass wineries with your besties. Now you’re back at your stunning Airbnb in Napa Valley putting together a cheese board to nom on next to the outdoor fireplace while watching the sunset over the vineyards…

I’m spoiled by living next door to California wine country and that means I visit a LOT, and know all the good spots. Including the best Napa Valley Airbnbs so you can plan an epic wine tasting trip to the valley. And I’m sharing them with you.

Grab Your Wine: These Are The 8 Best Napa Valley Airbnbs

Cheers to a wine country getaway!

I judge a cool Airbnb based on style/decor, the location, price and value, extra perks (like coffee or a hot tub) and just overall vibes. And when it comes to a beautiful place like Napa, you deserve a beautiful house to come back to.

Booking an Airbnb is hands down the best option if you are coming with a large group (multiple couples, a family, bachelorette party, etc) so you all have space or are staying for a whole week. This way you can cook meals and cut down on eating out costs (and save the coin for bringing home more wine!) These are all Airbnbs I’ve stayed at personally or think – with my professional local opinion – would make great home bases for your napa valley vacations. Let’s go!

Best Napa Valley Airbnbs For A California Wine Country Vacation

Luxury villas with pools, charming cottages, rustic farmhouses with hot tubs, vineyard Airstreams and more - these are the best Airbnbs in Napa Valley to rent for your wine country trip.

Boho A-Frame With Hot Tub

Location: Yountville Foothills
Price: $800/per night
Guests: Up to 10

OMG - it's so rare to find an A-frame outside the Sierra Nevada mountains, especially one that is as dang beautiful as this one is. I mean - just feast your eyes on that dreamy outdoor patio. Who else can picture yourself sipping coffee and eating bacon on this?! I'm also swooning over the decor on the inside, especially the wallpaper in the bathroom.

This house is probably best ot rent with a larger group as it can fit up to 10 people and there's plenty of space so everyone can be comfortable. Split the cost and it's a little under $100 per night per person - a steal for such a dreamy place in dreamy wine country.

Yountville Barn W/ Gardens

Location: Yountville
Price: $169 per night
Guests: Up to 3

As a Wisconsin born gal, I always have a soft spot for barns and this one mixes wine life with barn charm perfectly. This barn Airbnb takes over the loft on top and is technically a guest suite but totally private and you have free reign over outdoor space which includes: a bocce court, incredible gardens, a gas fire pit and expansive outdoor lighting. There's even bikes available for guests to use.

Downtown Calistoga Bungalow

Location: Downtown Calistoga
Price: $350 / per night
Guests: Up to 4

I swear the hosts of these bungalows copied my exact Home Decor Pinterest Board when decorating this one-bedroom cottage. My husband practically had to pry me away when it was checkout time - I would like to move in now, please! I loved all the decor in these Airbnb rentals (there's 3 bungalows in total on this property, but all are private.)

Look at the green tile in the bedroom! That amazing airy and cozy living area! The cool outdoor patio! The evening light fills the whole place in this stunning orange glow, too. SWOON. It's also within easy walking distance to local markets and Calistoga restaurants so after wine tasting, we could just park the car and walk everywhere. Unique Castle in Napa Valley

Location: Napa / Oak Knoll
Price: $550 per night
Guests: Up to 2

Holy cow yes that's a freaking castle Airbnb!! You've probably heard of the famous castle winery in Napa but now you can also spend a night in one, too! This castle guest house has a three-story deck overlooking vineyards. Grab a glass of wine and watch the sunset over the hills, and then wait for the stars to come out. So romantic.

Past guests rave about how unique this Napa vacation rental is. If you have a special anniversary coming up (or, just mega nerds and want to live out a Game of Thrones day) book this one.

Vineyards Views + Outdoor Firepit

Location: St. Helena
Price: $350/per night
Guests: Up to 4

What a charming Napa cottage guesthouse! It has tall, airy ceilings, clean lines, and tons of pop of color in the decor. If you haven't figured it out all already, I live for outdoor living spaces and this one has a large patio with sweeping views of vineyards. AND - a firepit!!!

Make sure to bring makings for a charcuterie board and pick up a few bottles of wine at tasting appointments from the day. You'll want to camp out here all night long.

The Silver Cloud Airstream

Location: Downtown Napa
Price: $116 / per night
Guests: Up to 2

I'm a huge sucker for glamping and the Main Street Farmhouse Silver Cloud is such a fun twist on a classic downtown napa cottage experience. If you need an Airbnb on a budget or are looking for a unique place to stay, this old school Airstream is perfect (and totally IG-worthy!) PS - I would recommend perhaps not renting this in the dead of summer, since it gets HOT HOT HOT up here.

Villa with Vineyard Access

Location: St. Helena hills
Price: $756 / per night
Guests: Up to 5

You can step out the front door and go take a walk in vineyards at this luxury villa. The kitchen is massive and the outdoor living space is simply MAGIC, especially at night with the string lights on and the fire going. Past guests rave about this house, loving all the luxury decor details, the location and the outdoor bath. It's great for two couples looking to mix wine tasting and stylish luxury.

Wine Country Villa With Pool

Location: Downtown Yountville
Price: $590 / per night
Guests: Up to 10

This is probably the best Airbnb in Yountville - it is within walking distance to the French Laundry after all! And holy cow, this house is stunning. If you're looking for a Napa Airbnb with a pool this house probably has one of the best ones for the price. I would like to park myself on that back patio + pool all day with a group of girlfriends and a lot of wine before strolling over for a fancy dinner in town.

Where To Stay In Napa Valley – Inside Tips

Here’s the thing about Napa Valley – it’s freaking HUGE! And people who are first time visitors to Napa County have a hard time grasping the landscape. On a day without traffic, it takes me easily 45-60 minutes to drive from the north end (Calistoga) to the Southern end (Downtown Napa) but on a busy weekend day? Oh boy, easily twice that long.

That’s why it’s important to book Napa Rental homes near the region you are wine tasting in so you aren’t spending half your days in the car. My personal two favorite cities to stay in are St. Helena and Calisgota, but each town has a different vibe.

  • Downtown Napa: The largest “city” so more urban. Tasting rooms, restaurants, bars and hotels are all within walking distance to each other so you don’t have to rent a car. A good option if you plan on bar hopping or hitting the food scene hard.
  • Yountville: Very bougie and gorgeous little town. Has some fantastic restaurants but does get a bit sleepy at night.
  • St. Helena: A super fun town with a fun downtown main street with shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s in the heart of some of my favorite wineries and it’s easy to pop around to tasting appointments.
  • Calistoga: Sometimes it’s hard to believe Calistoga is in Napa Valley as it’s so different from the other towns. Very quirky and full of trees. Plus, this is where you can find all those famous Napa hot springs and mud baths.

Best Hotels In Napa Valley

Didn’t find the perfect Airbnb? That’s ok! Napa Valley has some AMAZING hotels. Some of my favorite Northern California resorts are located here in wine country – think beautiful mansions next to vineyards, charming inns with pools, etc. I think Napa Valley hotels are best to book when you are visiting on short weekend trips (1-2 nights) and with a smaller group under 4 and staying all in one room.

I love zipping up to wine country with my girlfriends for a fun weekend of pool days and wine tasting. I also love to come with my husband for a more romantic, relaxed Napa vacations. These are my top favorite Napa hotels that I’ve stayed at personally that I know you’ll love too!

  • Solage Calistoga (with amazing pools –  yes, pools as in plural)
  • Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa (quirky and has a great spa)
  • Las Alcobas: Get the ground-floor rooms that are steps away from vineyards.
  • Andaz Napa: Downtown Napa hotel literally footsteps from all the good stuff.
  • North Block Hotel: Looks like it was plucked right out of Italy.
