The Bungalows At Calistoga Boutique Hotel

There is nothing better at the end of a long day wine tasting than a comfortable yet beautiful space to relax in before dinner. That’s what Calistoga is all about – helping you unwind and sip the stress away. You shouldn’t have to crowd yourself in a dark or small hotel room on a trip like this. That’s the whole concept around the Bungalows at Calistoga – providing a chic, airy, comfortable space to compliment your wine country getaway.

Upscale, but not booshie: my ideal kind of place.

We checked into Bungalow B on a sunny Tuesday afternoon and I instantly fell in love with the decor and overall vibe. I couldn’t wait to spend the next two nights surrounded by fun pops of teal, beautiful tile and whimsical pieces of artwork. I’m also pretty sure the couch in our bungalow is the exact same one I’ve been trying to convince Robin to get for our apartment. Needless to say, the Bungalows at Calistoga felt like home… but in the middle of wine country.

The Bungalows at Calistoga are about a 5-minute walk from downtown Calistoga, so they are perfectly situated just far out enough that you avoid the noise and foot traffic, but still close enough to walk anywhere you want in the area. We found ourselves walking to dinner, breakfast, wine tastings… everything! From what I could visibly see, there are only a handful of hotels and resorts that are within walking distance to downtown Calistoga, the rest of the luxury lodging options are a bit farther out and require driving.

After dinner on the first night, we cracked open a bottle of wine, cuddled up in blankets on the back porch and listened to music. Between the trees, I could see a few stars poking out. In the morning, the light pours into the bungalow and fills it up with a warm glow.

Staying at the Bungalows made me feel like I was back in Wisconsin in my countryside farmhouse on a late summer day…

Each Bungalow can fit up to 4 people, as the couch is a pullout sleepover sofa. There are three bungalows on the property. You don’t have to see your neighbors if you want privacy, but I think they would make an excellent home base for a big group, wedding party or family gathering. You can all take over the 3 bungalows and have a grand ‘ole time! I personally could see myself coming back up with a few girl friends and splitting a bungalow for a couple of nights. The ample space allows for a group to comfortably be together without stepping on each other’s toes, which usually happens when we all stay in a hotel room.
