I’ve lived in my tiny San Francisco apartment for almost 8 years now (heyo rent control!) and know the pains of decorating a small living room. Why do furniture companies seem to only cater to homeowners with a lot of space?!
When I upgraded my cheap Target couch to a Big Girl sofa a couple of years ago, I spent literally days searching the internet for the best small couches (so much time reading the dimensions and measuring things!!) If you’re on the hunt for stylish modern sectional sofas for small spaces, I got you covered. I did the hard work for you and everything below is made to fit into small rooms (and is a great price point!)
First – Measure Your Living Room
When you’re shopping for your sectional, start by measuring your space so you know how big is too big for your room. And be a stickler for that sizing.
This probably sounds self-explanatory, but when I was hunting for our green velvet couch, I found so many options that were maybe 1-2 inches longer which doesn’t sound like it’ll be a problem. But when you are living in a small apartment or have a small room, every inch counts. You don’t want something cannibalizing the space in a bad way, that’s interior design rule 101.
(You can have something take over a space in a good way. For example – these oversized gold mirrors can look awesome even in small spaces!)
So – don’t forget to measure!
