When it’s the dead of winter, I can’t help but start scrolling through photos of warm, tropical places.

Last year, Robin and I went to Hawaii for the very first time. Since we both grew up in Wisconsin, Hawaii was REALLY hard and expensive to get to. It was reserved for the rich and honeymooners.

We spent 7 magical days on Maui and I totally fell in love with the sense of style on that island. Palm leaves, bright pops of color, funky wallpaper and rattan everything.

Just look at how pretty that island is!

Hawaii totally inspired a lot of my own home decor that I incorporated into our studio apartment. From palm leaf plants to rattan baskets, there are a lot of nods to Maui in our home.

If you also love the island style, keep reading for 12 Hawaiian inspired home decor pieces to brighten your apartment and make you feel like it’s Mai Tai time 24/7.
